What it does well
It holds position. This sounds trivial and it is the entire job. The characteristic failure of cheap arms is that the gas spring weakens over months until the screen sinks under its own weight and re-tensioning no longer helps. The LX’s spring is rated and warranted for a long service life, and that is the substantive difference.
Both mounts are in the box. Clamp and grommet, so you are not buying a second part when you discover your desk edge is too thick.
The range is genuinely large. It reaches low enough for a correct seated position and far enough back to recover useful desk depth.
The specification that catches people out
The minimum weight. A gas spring tensioned for a range cannot be de-tensioned below it, so a very light panel — some small or older monitors — will drift upward no matter how far you back off the adjustment. Check your monitor’s weight against both ends of the published range.
Where it is beaten
On price, obviously. A budget arm has the same geometry and works acceptably for a year or two, and if you are testing whether an arm helps at all, that is a reasonable first purchase.
On very heavy panels, this is not the right arm — large ultrawides frequently exceed its range and need something rated higher.

Will it hold my ultrawide?
Check the weight, not the diagonal. Diagonal size is a poor proxy because panel weights vary enormously between models — some 34-inch ultrawides sit comfortably inside a standard arm's range and others are well beyond it. What does the warranty actually cover?
The mechanism, including the gas spring, which is the part that determines whether the arm still works in year eight. That is the meaningful coverage: a gas spring that has lost tension is what turns an arm into a drooping bracket, and a warranty that names it is a manufacturer expressing confidence in exactly the component most likely to fail.
